In my last message, I talked about the “sign” I received from my deceased love one, my sister-in-
law, who recently died in March.
Wow… I was amazed by the number of people who commented on this occurrence, wanted to know how to receive signs from a deceased loved one and craved validation of their past communications from spirit! I shouldn’t have been surprised though, as statistics report more than 50 to 70 percent of grieving people receive messages from loved ones.
One client recently lost both of her beloved parents. She described herself as “desperate” to receive a message from them to know they are safe and okay in another place. This sense of lack along with being in the dense, heavy “fog” of grief was deterring communication.
Our goal was to lift her energetic vibration to a higher, lighter level, where it is easier for spirit to communicate so she could hear her loved ones.
I want to share one of the many, simple methods we used to begin facilitating a connection through energy for this client. Grief Healing Tip
Energetic Connection IS Possible
Like you, I am an everyday person without any superhero powers, but I did give myself permission to ask for signs that I could see, feel and hear from the spiritual realm.
Experts agree that after we die, we continue in another form of energy, and it is through this energy that we stay connected.
The spirit of your loved one is very much alive and with you.
One of the easiest ways to test the idea of energetic connection is the concept of psychometry, which I learned from Dr. Brian Weiss, who is the renowed author of many best-selling books, including Many Lives, Many Masters, which I highly recommend to anyone who is curious about the spiritual realm or past lives.
Dr. Weiss is a psychotherapist whose professional life was completely changed when one of his patients began reporting information about her past lives—information that a scientist is trained NOT to believe. His perspective changed dramatically when the same patient began channeling information about Dr. Weiss’ deceased son and family.
What is Psychometry?
The concept of Psychometry is when you read the energy of an object. You can sense things, receive images, feel emotions, hear sounds, and receive smells and tastes about the history of an object and its owner.
It’s an energetic fingerprint.
We are all made up of energy. Our energy leaves an “energetic imprint” on all objects we encounter.
This means that objects will hold an energetic vibration of what has been impressed upon them.
These energy fields that surround the object is what you are sensing when you use psychometry.
Psychometry in Action
Last fall, I attended a one-day conference led by Dr. Weiss in Chicago with over 1000 attendees.
During the afternoon session, Dr. Weiss asked us to exchange an object with the person sitting next to us to experience psychometry. I gave my neighbor, Alyssa, my watch and she gave me the necklace she was wearing. (Metal objects that you keep close to your body are the best to use.)
We were instructed to hold onto the object, close our eyes, get relaxed and listen to Dr. Weiss’ prompts. We simply paid attention to any images that came to our minds without judgement. After two minutes, we reported to our partner what we saw and sensed (without censoring the information.) After holding my watch, Alyssa saw images of Watertower place, a shopping mall on Michigan Avenue in Chicago and a dinosaur. Seems to make no sense, right? But, she saw these images at the EXACT same time my husband and son were at Watertower Place seeing a Lego exhibit that included a T- Rex. Her image was correct.
For my turn, I reported to Alyssa that I saw an image of a birthday party led by a happy mother, with cat-eyed classes from the 70s. I imagined lots of young, smiling kids, including a sister and a brother, playing fun games, including Musical Chairs and Pin the Tail on the Donkey and tons of presents. There were colorful streamers, bright balloons, and a homemade birthday cake in the kitchen. The image was like a scene from the television show, The Wonder Years. An odd, nonsensical image, right? Wrong, Alyssa confirmed that I was describing the birthday parties
that her mother hosted for her and her brother when they were young.
Alyssa and I were astounded that the information was so accurate, like so many other conference participants who reported similar stories of uncanny accuracy.
Now, that your curiosity might be peaked…
Your Turn: How to do Psychometry?
Psychometry is very easy. Anyone can do it. Try it with a like-minded partner or do it alone.
- Rub your hands together to get the energy flowing.
- Now, keep the palms of your hands facing each other and slightly pull your hands apart. Do you sense a sort of heavy feeling between your palms? Or a feeling of “energy”? Do you feel like you can bounce a ball between our palms? If you do, perfect! If you don’t, try rubbing your hands together a little bit more.
- Hold an item in your hands. A ring, necklace, keychain, or something someone wears frequently is perfect for this exercise. Or choose an item belonging to your loved one, such as his or her wedding ring, watch, or other object that has special meaning.
- Relax. Close your eyes.
- Allow images and sounds about the owner of the object to come into your mind.
- What do you see, hear, smell, sense?Ask yourself, what types of experiences did the owner have while in possession of this object? Sometimes, the strongest energy emanating from an object are emtions. Love, hate, and fear are proven to be three of the most powerful emotions that can be felt.
- Tell your partner what you saw and felt or jot down the information, if you did the exercise alone. Validate with your partner the info you received.
You have just given yourself permission to open your intuitive self and notice energy. Easy, peasy, right?
